When Night gives falling stars and glowing planets
and a square cloud is guided by a full moon

When the space under trees
Lets me enter into growth and pattern
and water mirrors all

When red must make the grass even greener
and mountain paths spring up from animals’ feet

When day and night share their colours with us
and a human carries its child through this world,

let me paint it,
for that’s how I see.
